Applications, especially if they are vertically and commercially available, require a professional image. End users expect short-cuts that point to an executable with a file name that they recognize (e.g. Word.exe, Explorer.exe, PhotoShop.exe, etc.) However, OpenInsight requires short-cuts that point to OINSIGHT.exe with command line parameters to help inform the system how to launch. The SRP Application Launcher was created to resolve this problem as well as provide increased control over the launching and re-launching of OpenInsight applications.
