Description
Places double quotation marks around a given expression.
Syntax
quoted = Quote (expression)
Parameters
The Quote function has the following parameters.
Parameter | Description |
---|---|
Expression | Any legal BASIC+ expression. |
The expression can also be enclosed in double quote marks (" ") by using other BASIC+ methods, but the resulting code is more confusing. For example, the following two lines of code are equivalent:
Sel = 'Select CM With Date "' :DT: '"' Sel = "Select CM With Date " :Quote(DT)
Quote is an internal function and does not have to be declared.
Example
Return = "THE VALUE " : Quote(var) : " IS OUT OF RANGE" /* The values contained in VAR are bounded by double quotation marks. */
