Description
Read data into a form from a database.
Syntax
bforward = READ (ctrlentID, ctrlclassID)
Parameters
READ accepts arguments for the following parameters.
| Parameter | Description |
|---|---|
| ctrlentID | Has the format WindowName.ControlName, where WindowName is the identifier of the window that contains the affected control, and ControlName is the identifier of that control. Notice that a period separates the two values. |
| ctrlclassID | The type of control. Window control is the only valid entry. |
Returns
True or false. If false, then program execution returns to the calling procedure. If true, then event processing goes to the next level.

Remarks
The READ event does not send any NOTEREAD events.
